If you have not recently checked out the Issue Management Resolution System from IRS, you might want to spend a few minutes and give it a look. As an outgrowth of grass-roots efforts like our own local Practitioner Panel, IRS has created a systemic approach to identifying and solving miscellaneous issues. This page will link you to the monthly reports on items reported and items resolved. Many of these items will not be particularly relevant to you, but some will be downright gems, real eye-openers. Keep this page in mind when you're waiting on hold or you have a few minutes during lunch.
